Elaine Buckholtz will be presenting her time based art installations focusing on both the visual and auditory aspects of the environments that she creates. A discussion will follow to consider questions about her work and relationships between visual and oral aesthetics.

Elaine Buckholtz is a multi-media artist living in San Francisco. Her work combines the mediums of moving light, video, sculpture, and sound. She has worked with Merce Cunningham and Meredith Monk recreating their visual environments internationally and continues to tour with Meredith Monk and Pamela Z as a Lighting Designer. She had her first solo visual art show at The Luggage Store in San Francisco in 2003 and has shown work at The San Francisco Arts Commission, New Langton Arts, California College of The Arts, Stanford , The Wexner Center, and Fusion Art Space. Elaine attended The California College Of The Arts on a Jacob K. Javits Fellowship from 2002-2004, and is presently in her 2nd year in Stanford’s MFA program.
