    Meeting Times:

Lectures will be held in the CCRMA Ballroom at the Knoll Building on Monday and Wednesday, 10:15-11:45.

For the first 6 weeks, there will be one two-hour lab each week. For the remaining 4 weeks, work will be on team projects: designing and demonstrating an innovative device.

    Office Hours:

      By appointment.

    Units:

The course is to be taken for 3-4 units.

    Grading:

      10% Homework
      10% Midterm
      30% Lab
      40% Project
      10% Class Participation

The class will be limited to 20 students - we hope for an interdisciplinary mix.

A continuation of this class (with the same instructors) will be offered in Winter 2003: Music 250b, "Music Controller Design and Development". It will involve directed study in computer music and controller design. Designs from 250A will be refined and applications developed. The goal is to see how they can best be used.
