HW#3 This posting comes with some delay, but its contents were not unknown (that HW3 was about spatialization was already disclosed), so the dealine remains the same: next Thursday before class. What follows are the points by which your submission will be evaluated: Using any spatialization method from those given in class (or your own) produce 1'-8' of music using 4 or more channels (or binaural in case of HRTFs) (25%) You must use at least one other instrument (25%) You may use plain recorded sounds for most of your source material if you like (see cdparanoia and sox programs in the command line to bring sounds into your directory), but at least once you should use the output of another instrument like grani, to feed your spatialization instrument (see sound-let in the CLM manual) (25%) Remember that dlocsig is a unit generator not an instrument per se. Use it in place of outa, outb, or locsig in the run section of your definstrument. See class examples and the clm manual. Your use of spatialization techniques gives you extra dimensions for your sound: direction and movement. Without imposing any aesthetic constraints, your are supposed to exercise good judgment in your choices for these parameters. Your are encouraged to make full use of the space. It will be obvious whether a choice was made for lack of experience with the instrument, or for a reason consistent with other parts of your composition. (25%)
