reading: chapters 5 -7

[Don't worry... this is the last assignment that will involve isolated test tones. Next up will be longer passages with multiple notes / events, maybe even music!]

Starting with the structure from homework #2, add a low-pass filter (either a one-zero or one-pole filter) in its loop. Its addition should create the effect of a time-varying spectral change, going from bright (many harmonics) at the initial excitation to a dull, almost sinusoidal ringing "tail".

Create the filter by adding the necessary delayed samples and a difference equation. Use the same click excitation, as before.

Turn in two versions:

• one that matches your tube's time-varying characteristic
• one that rings much longer and sounds like a plucked string

• a .wav file
• a sonogram
