The Meaning Behind the Noise

For this assignment I chose to use a sample that I had found while finding samples for the radio play. It was a rising/falling arpeggiated tone that sounded really interesting and ethereal. I then tried to find a physical model that would work for this sound. I first tried the sitar then the saxophone and then a multitude of other physical models. After multiple attempts at finding a nice sounding model I gave up and settled for the Blowhole. I then began the set with a sinusoidal solo of the Blowhole modulating the rate and reed parameters. This was followed up by the solo of the ethereal sample chopped up. The following 40 or so seconds is the blowhole and ethereal sample dueting with different algorithm patterns. Both the BlowHole and the sample were put through a reverb effect to give a more interesting sound.
