Nikon's N80 (called F80 outside the U.S., Central and South America) is a great camera, but, as with their other cameras offering a Custom Settings Menu (CSM), chances are you won't be able to memorize most of the meaningless numeric codes. This is where a cheat sheet comes in handy, in particular if it also supports your learning process. There are several such sheets available on the net, but I couldn't find a single one that had the right size, presented the right amount of information, and made sense of the codes by laying them out in an intelligent way. Hence, I bit the bullet and rolled my own.

My cheat sheet is credit card-sized and will thus fit in any wallet. It is also concise in that it doesn't attempt to explain the various camera functions. And it lays out settings and the meaning of their codes logically, starting with code 0, thus also facilitating eventual memorization. (Remember that to Nikon code 0 means default setting and all other codes custom setting; however, since CSM 15 and 16 both have only numeric values, the camera displays the literal values instead of codes, thus adding to the confusion.)

In general, my sheet uses Nikon's standard abbreviations for the various camera functions, but in some places I had to add abbreviations of my own or compact descriptions. Please refer to the following table for explanations:
