For my final piece, I wanted to create a space-y ambient track - thematically, it sounds like a transmission to a spacecraft, followed by a response from some unknown vessel in the vast emptiness of space. To do this, I made multiple tracks in ChucK, which I recorded individually and later manipulated in Audacity (e.g. pitch/time-shifting, adding echo) before layering them together. The layers for my piece include a sonified data set on monthly sunspot numbers, the Apollo 11 Launch Countdown audio, and several chaotic noise unit generators (similar to the clarinet code given in HW4).
