HELLO WORLD CUIL THEORY

(updated: added webkit audio context "monkey patch" for Safari 24-Oct-2017)

Binaural ambisonics method for Music 220a homeworks using web audio API's PannerNode unit generator and OmniTone decoder

PannerNode vs Songbird shows panning of 1 audio file source in a 2D binaural field. Starting with that code from Google, I added 3 more sources and located all 4 so that they resemble a quad loudspeaker arrangement. Then, I changed the audio files to be the four channels of the composition. Finally, I disabled the real-time panning function and removed its interface. The result is this web page with an embedded player which can serve as a model for similar projects. Clones of this should keep everything but this descriptive text and should alter the source audio files that are listed in the array named "audioSources".

the files used in this example are "hw2/full_hamburgerRF.wav", "hw2/full_hamburgerLF.wav", "hw2/full_hamburgerLR.wav", "hw2/full_hamburgerRR.wav"

This is crazy tbh. Credit for the text behind cuil theory comes from here.
