Sukothai is a piece by Carl Stone. In the piece, Carl plays Round O (Rondo) once. He takes the two channels in this mix and makes a mono track by recording the original playing. Carl then plays the mono recording in both channels at a random delay time apart and repeats the process ten or more times. The effect on the sound is that you no longer hear the details of the audio. Rather, you hear the "shape of the sound," as I like to say. It's a really great way to create an ambient piece of sound out of any piece you might already enjoy.

Sukothai Controlled is a ChucK script which lets you input any audio, and put the Sukothai effect onto that audio. You can control how many iterations the script will use by pressing the number keys while it's running. Sukothai Controlled will also play the original sound at a lower, but distinguishable gain to show how well you can use Sukothai as a backing for the piece it is created out of. To get back to just hearing the original track, press "-".
