Relation to the Open DIRECTORY

The Open Directory Project (ODP) (acquired by Google ca. 2002) is similar to Yahoo except that it is ``open source,'' meaning that anyone can add to it. However, the remaining limitations of Yahoo pertain here as well:

• Links are generally not definitive in nature
• Competing links are not ranked
• Only one category-path (context) allowed per link
• Controlled by Google (restrictions apply)
