Search
For finding the ``best link'' on a given topic, sophisticated search
engines such as Google are indispensible. In particular, Google is a
great source of excellent starting links for seeding the Open Dictionary.
However, Google itself does not satisfy all needs for several reasons:
- Pages are said to be ranked primarily by ``authority'' - not by how well they serve as definitive home pages
- It is automatic - only people can polish rankings
- Context can only be specified indirectly by means of word association
