Conclusions

In summary, the Open Dictionary serves on-line educational needs in a variety of roles. In the simplest case, it provides an on-line ``meta-encyclopedia'' which can be browsed or searched. For the educator, it provides a place to find and share valuable links to on-line educational materials. For Web developers, it provides a ranked database of knowledge-oriented links on the Web, thereby enabling higher quality automatic linking than is presently available by other means.
