The references below can be used to fill in missing prerequisites for the course:

• Music 320 texts:
  • Mathematics of the Discrete-Time Fourier Transform (DFT) -- prerequisite material pertaining to the DFT.
  • Introduction to Digital Filter Theory -- prerequisite material in the area of digital filtering and linear systems theory.

• Music 420 text:
  • Physical Audio Signal Processing -- recommended material pertaining to signal processing models of acoustics systems.

• J. McLellan, et al., DSP First: A Multimedia Approach, Prentice Hall, 1998 (TK5102.M388). This was formerly the text for Music 320. The book CD-ROM is installed at CCRMA in the directory /usr/ccrma/courses/320/dspfirst/. CCRMA matlab software for MUS320 can be found in /usr/ccrma/courses/320/matlab/.
