Description of assignment:

For this assignment I built directly off of the idea in the hw4 starter code. I used mainly FM parameters and spacing to create the streaming effect when sped up. I divided the brief piece into three sections:

  1. 5 note sequence with a pattern of 4 parameters

  2. 8 note sequence with a pattern of 2 parameters. Note that this splits the sequence clearly into two distinct lines. This isn't quite the same streaming effect as section 1 because it is rhythmic and probably more audible even if all notes are given the same parameters. However, separating it as I did makes two clear lines.

  3. 6 note sequence with a pattern of 5 parameters. This is similar to section 1 and immediately starts decelerating to the end.

Outside of Chuck I added a synth pad to provide a clearer sense of musical direction and definition. I then panned both the Chuck score and the synth pad in 4 channels. The panning is not necessary to create the streaming effect beyond the FM changes, but it's... cooler.
