For this assignment, I read a monologue from the website "Teentastic Monologues" concerning one Chloe's frustration with being a band geek. I decided to read it in a very dramatic, lowered voice, and added gasps (with higher pitch)( to give the effect of Chloe's mother's disapproval. After listening fully, I decided to place the opening of Mahler's second symphony behind it, as I thought it might work. I separated the left and right channels of the stereo recording I owned and used these to fill out the four channel texture. The text and music actually surprisingly complemented each other.
