In order to create an auditory streaming illusion, I modified register transposition, loudness, and location parameters. In the first section, one of the voices is pitch-shifted up an octave. Although the notes are ascending, as the notes accelerate and come closer together, the higher register notes appear to be descending. In the second section, one of the voices is modified to be louder and the other two softer. Although the scale descends, the illusion caused by auditory streaming is that the notes ascend. The same is true for the last section, in which modifying location produces a similar result as section one, however, it is not as strong. This study is unifed musically, as all of the ascending and descending notes are different inversions of the same four notes.
