One of my favorite inspirational videos is titled "The Most Astounding Fact". It features a clip from a TIME Magazine interview with Neil DeGrasse Tyson, in which the astrophysicist gives an account of what he thinks is the most astounding fact about the universe. The clip also features the song "To Build a Home" performed by the Cinematic Orchestra. I wanted to recreate this 7-million-view video for the Radioplay assignment. I recorded myself reciting a transcript of the interview, then added various space sounds supplied by NASA. This was all layed on top of selections from "To Build a Home". Some affects, such as amplification were done in Audacity, while others, such as panning, were done through ChucK. Since, the final audio file is a binaural mixdown of a 4-channel radioplay, listeners should be able to hear sounds, like eerie cosmic beeping, coming from four different directions.
