This project incorporates three elements: an audio sample, a ChucK brass physical player and a ChucK BlowBtl physical player. The piece begins with a repeated snippet from my audio sample (the audio sample is "Back on the Track" by Jimmy McGriff). This is then accompanied by a continuous drone produced by the BlowBtl physical player. This drone provides the backdrop for the majority of the project. Next, there is a back and forth between the Brass physical player and the same audio sample. During the climax of the piece, both the physical player and the audio sample are continuously playing off of each other, as the droning BlowBtl physical player begins to modulate for the first time in the piece. After the climax, the lead voices begin to drop out, leaving only the sustained BlowBotl to finish off the piece.
