Data source:

Hyndman, R.J.  "Monthly measurements of carbon dioxide above Mauna Loa, Hawaii. Jan 1959 – Dec 1990. Units: parts per million (ppm). Missing values have been filled in by linear interpolation. The data were collected by Scripps Institute of Oceanography, La Jolla, California." Time Series Data Library, http://data.is/TSDLdemo. Accessed on 9/30/2012.

Data was mapped to sound via a reader, which read in raw data values. These values were then normalized to new values between 0 and 1, and manipulated with simple arithmetic to generate an amplitude and frequency for each data value. Finally, the parameters with which each value was manipulated were changed to obtain audio clips with different pitch qualities (lower vs. higher) and loudness qualities (louder vs. quieter).
