For this assignment, I first wrote down some simple, recognizable melodies in MIDI notes to start and end on. I chose the themes for Mission Impossible and James Bond. The piece begins with an untransformed Mission Impossible theme, which plays a few times and then begins changing. The altered tempo and instrument parameters produce two completely new melodies and the output channels expand from 1 to 3. Next, the note sequence is changed to that of James Bond and the transformed section is played a few times with the new notes, sounding like several completely different tunes. The parameters then slowly regress to their original values (and the dac channels recombine into 1) and by the end of the song, the James Bond theme is recognizable again.
