For my final project, I recycled some samples from the recording of my first acoustic composition, Concertino for Piano and Orchestra (2004), which was performed at the Graduation Concert of the "Dinu Lipatti" High-School in Bucharest, Romania.
I used the ChucK code that was kindly provided by Chris Chafe and Hongchan Choi for Homework 3 of the Music 220A class. Thinking about how to create an accompanying video, I tweaked the parameters of the code in order to obtain relevant audio output, which I then recorded and arranged in Ableton Live. I also used the codes from Homework 1 (parsing a data set* about recycling) and Homework 5 (inputing the applause at the end) to generate new sounds and control sound parameters in Ableton Live (volume and panning) through OSC routed via MaxMSP. After finishing the composition in Ableton Live, I edited video excerpts from the same recording of the performance in Adobe Premiere Pro and completed the audiovisual work.
This was a fun project for me and I really enjoyed the class, so I would like to thank Chris Chafe, Holly Herndon, and Romain Michon for everything!
