Homework 4

Hey there! This submission serves as my four homework assignment.

Here are the ChucK files used in my exploration. The first is the instrument class file that is shredded in setup and the second actually plays my composition.

For this piece, I was inspired by music videos of the up-and-coming London artist Jacob Collier. In his live performances, he uses a piano to modulate chords that get filled by his pitch-shifted voice. Seeing the example of pitch shifting with random variation, I wanted to put the shifting in the hands of the performer. The overall effect is similar to an autotune, but for chords, since it can bend the sound to whatever chords (including MIDI notes or chosen frequencies) you desire. Once I'd created my talk box-like instrument, I played around with parts of my live singing and recorded sounds on top of one another.
