For this assignment, I recorded my mother, father, sister, and brother reading their favorite poems or excerpts from poems. I play each of these recordings in the front two speakers, because, as a child, I was led by these individuals. They gave me guidance and taught me right from wrong. However, as time passes/I grow up, they move towards the back speakers, to represent going into the background of my mind. Always there, yet less of a significant presence. I also layer my family members' voices to show the chaos that it can be to try to follow everyone's direction and to please everyone. Finally, these recordings end and I have a voice that is meant to represent this stage in life that reads a poem about this moving forward into independence.
