The Last Exile of HistoryRethinking colonialism and migration in Italy

Italian colonialism's past history seems buried in dusty archives and is rarely addressed in political and public arenas.

By bringing together leading scholars, artists, and migrants dealing with Italian colonial and postcolonial society, we hope to promote awareness of the heritage of Italy's colonial past and its links with the present.

Combining scholarship and art, we hope to explore the consequences of collective memory loss and to raise consciousness of contemporary issues of migration and national identity.
