I chose data on the demand for gasoline as the source of information I would like to sonify. Upon viewing the graph above, I thought this would make for an interesting sonification, since it the numbers form a series of peaks that get higher and higher as time increases. In order to sonify these peaks, I chose to focus on amplitude, frequency, and attributes on a low-pass filter.
For my project I used a square oscilator with a low-pass filter that was modulated by a low-frequency oscilator whose speed was controlled by the values from the data. Both pitch and amplitude of the oscilator are also influenced by the data.
