This assignment is based on data from the United Nations estimating past and future population and birth rate trends. Their data begins at 1950 and projects trends up until 2100. These projections are based on analysis of current censuses, fertility rates, and mortality rates.

What interested me was the drastic difference in the three main projections presented by the UN. To highlight these differences, my piece plays the data from the high, low, and middle variants for birth rate and population in that order. Then the piece plays the three projections for world population simultaneously for further comparison. The birth rate is differentiated from the population sine wave by using a phasor with a bright, shrill sound.
