
Marina Bosi is a consulting professor at
Stanford University’s Computer Center for Research in Music and
Acoustics (CCRMA) and is the chief technology officer of MPEG LA, a
firm specializing in the licensing of multimedia technology. Prior to
that, Dr. Bosi was VP-Technology, Standards and Strategies with Digital
Theatre Systems (DTS) and at Dolby Laboratories, where she worked on
AC-2 and AC-3 technology and coordinated the MPEG-2 AAC development. Dr.
Bosi participated in a number of activities aimed to standardize audio
and video coding and digital secure content, including the DVD Forum,
the SDMI, and is currently involved in the ANSI/ISO MPEG, ATSC, DVB,
and SMPTE standard setting process. Dr. Bosi is founding member and
director of the Digital Media Project (Geneva 2003), a non-profit
organization that promotes successful development, deployment, and use
of Digital Media.
