Course Description:

Software for Sound Synthesis and Audio Effects

Topics:

• Introduction to the Faust language for audio signal processing
• Discussion of a progressive set of Faust plugins and applications
• Software projects underway
• Special topics in support of ongoing projects in the class

  Prerequisite: Music 420A or equivalent experience with signal processing models of acoustic systems, and software for virtual musical instruments and audio effects in C++ using the Synthesis ToolKit (STK).
