switch ON the yamaha digital mixer if it is OFF (power button is in the back, lower right hand corner as seen from the front), wait for it to fully boot
check that the mixer is running at 48KHz sampling rate
press the DIO button in the "DISPLAY ACCESS" key group (to the left of the LCD display)
there should be a blue square (blinking) next to "INT 48K"
if not, use the cursor keys on top of the parameter wheel to move the square to that place and press ENTER (just below the parameter wheel)
login to the workstation
start HDSPMixer (in the "Applications" -> "Sound & Video" menu)
[this will initialize the internal mixer or the sound card]
start HDSPConf (in the "Applications" -> "Sound & Video" menu)
and make sure that "Autosync" is selected
[we need to check that the soundcard is slaved to the digital mixer, otherwise we will hear clicks in the output from the mixer]
start qjackctl, go to "Setup," then set:
"Interface" -> "hw:0" (you only need to do this once)
press "OK" to exit from the "Setup" panel
press "Start" in the control panel to start the Jack server
start Ardour (in the "Applications" -> "Planet CCRMA" -> "Multitrack" menu)
click on the "Open Session" tab
click on "Browse"
click on "File System"
navigate by double clicking to "/audio/pieces/turenas/turenas"
open the session by double clicking on "turenas.ardour"
there will be an error panel (because the session is read-only), just press "Ok" at the bottom of the panel to dismiss the error message
turn on speakers (turn on both switches below the black light panel next to the video projection screen in the front of the Stage).
in the mixer:
recall scene #21: use the "SCENE MEMORY" keys (below and to the right of the LCD screen) to select scene 21 and press "RECALL"
in the "LAYER" keys (below the parameter wheel) press "17-32"
the first 8 faders are linked together and define the overall volume of playback
