Music 192E Workshop in Arranging Pop/Rock Music Discussion, analysis and hands-on workshop: arranging horn, string, and vocal parts for popular music. Inspiration from contemporary arrangers such as Burt Bacharach, Van Dyke Parks, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Quincy Jones, Richard Carpenter. Core of students' own writing and recording new arrangements each week, class discussion, and critique in workshop format. Enrollment limited to 10; students admitted by audition and consent of instructors.
